Transport network game

Aim

To develop a simple game that allows the player to use a transport network to visit places of interest. Each player is dealt a random series of places to visit, they must use the transport network to visit these POIs and return to the start. The player who completes first wins. The game should be capable of using real-world data (places and networks).

Objectives

1. Identify data sources 2. Establish game play 3. Construct a working prototype - with limited graphics

Deliverables

A working prototype that allows 2-3 players to take part. Probably desktop based, with limited graphics.

Research Questions

1. What is an appropriate software architecture for this game - how can the game be made expandable 2. What is an appropriate distributed architecture/platform to allow multiple players on different devices.

Methodology

Agile.

Evaluation

Prototype to be evaluated by a range of potential users (ethical clearance required).
